Recap…
In this listening we heard about a mother and daughter’s strong desire to stay together in the United States. We heard the emotion behind their words as they talked about their fears, hopes, and desires as they imagined the possibility of being separated. Ultimately, we learned that they will get to continue their lives together for now. Sadly, this isn’t always the case for many migrants who have fled violence, war, poverty, and persecution to start over in the United States. Maria and Emily’s story sheds light on the struggles that immigrants face and the threat of being separated from the ones you love.
