The talk today taught us about the importance of looking beyond averages in data to focus on outliers, or “lost birds,” as they reveal deeper insights into marginalized communities, unique stories, and broader societal challenges. In addition, we learned vocabulary words related to the listening and practiced using transition words to introduce examples in speaking and writing.
